What Are ECO Wicks?
ECO wicks are flat cotton wicks constructed from natural cotton threads interwoven with thin paper threads, producing a coreless rigid structure. The absence of a metal core makes ECO wicks lead and zinc free, while the paper reinforcement provides enough structural integrity to keep the wick upright during pouring and centered in the melt pool during burn. A key performance characteristic of the ECO series is the slight curl the wick develops as it burns. This self-trimming behavior reduces mushrooming and carbon buildup at the wick tip, which minimizes maintenance requirements during production quality checks and reduces visible soot on the finished candle surface. ECO wicks perform particularly well with soy, coconut, and soy-blend waxes across container candle formats including tumblers, straight-sided jars, and votives. They also function reliably with low melt-point paraffin blends. The consistent flame profile of the ECO series makes it a stable choice for brands running multiple fragrance SKUs off the same wick specification, as performance variability across fragrance types is lower compared to heavier braid constructions. Supplied pre-tabbed with a steel wick tab, ECO wicks are ready for immediate use on the production line.
