The Situation
No Supplier. No Warning.
A high-volume private label candle manufacturer supplying major US retailers lost their overseas manufacturing partner overnight. Their factory in the Middle East caught fire and ceased operations without notice. With 1 million containers moving per quarter and reserves running down, they needed a verified replacement supplier fast.
This was not a pricing problem. It was a supply chain emergency with no room for error.
The Challenge
Scale, Quality and Speed.
At 1 million units per quarter, the margin for error is zero. On top of volume, their previous supplier had a chronic glass defect problem. Micro-bubbles and sand inclusions were visible in the finished product. Any new supplier had to solve both the scale requirement and the quality problem simultaneously.
Logistics reliability was equally critical. Consistent pallet quality, transit packaging integrity, and on-time delivery had to be guaranteed from day one.

Samples and Specs
Full spec sheets and samples requested across multiple jar sizes. Glass quality tested specifically for sand inclusion and bubble defects.

Packaging Review
Transit packaging thickness, pallet configuration, and protective foam depth all evaluated. Nothing left to assumption.

Test Shipment
Full test shipment coordinated before committing to volume. Pallet integrity, packaging durability, and batch defect rate all analyzed.

Freight Contracted
Dedicated freight forwarder contracted at a flat rate. Priority capacity secured for 16 x 40HQ containers on a quarterly basis.
The Result
First shipment delivered within 19 weeks of initial contact. Zero glass defect issues reported post-transition. Consistent pallet and packaging quality maintained across every subsequent shipment. The client remains an active partner. 16 x 40HQ containers ship on a quarterly basis with no supply chain disruptions since February 2024.
